Along with quality patient care services provided
at the hospital, we at Mercy reach out to our citizens and neighbors through
a variety of community health and wellness programs and through sponsorship
of rural health care clinics in area communities. Primary care clinics in the
rural communities of, Cherryvale and Howard, provide basic health services to
citizens in need of care but distanced from full-service medical facilities.
In addition, through community health fairs, special health awareness campaigns
and wellness programs, Mercy brings charitable and low-cost service to the community.
Such services include:
Community Health Fairs. The annual health
fair is conducted in August in Independence. Free and low-cost screenings
and health-related informational booths are provided for those attending.
