John Woodrich, president/CEO of Mercy Health System of Kansas, has announced that Brett Boice, D.O., obstetrician/gynecologist, has joined the Mercy Physician Group, partnering with Dr. Sue Sohaei, OB/GYN.
Dr. Boice resides in Lamar, Mo., where he practices obstetrics and gynecology at Barton County Memorial Hospital.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in physiology from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater in 1983 and received his Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 1987 at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Okla. He completed an internship at Tulsa Regional Medical Center and his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa, where he also served as an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Boice is licensed in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma, and has previously been affiliated with St. John’s Regional Medical Center and Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo., and with Hillcrest Medical Center and St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.
He and his wife, Michelle Boice, M.D., also a gynecologist, have three children: Jackson, 15; Austin, 13; and Olivia, 9.
Dr. Boice’s recreational interests include hunting, fishing, flying and water sports, and he is involved in conservation organizations, including the National Wild Turkey Federation and Ducks Unlimited.
Dr. Boice will see patients in the Mercy Physician Group clinic, 800 W. Laurel, each Thursday and Friday and also will provide coverage for Dr. Sohaei as needed.
