Mercy Hospital Foundation of Independence
The Mercy Hospital Foundation was established as a not-for-profit corporation in 1989. Mercy Hospital set up the foundation with the community in mind. According to its bylaws, the Foundation was formed to aid, foster and promote the development and welfare of the hospital in Independence. Through its fund development efforts, the Foundation provides support for Mercy in the care and relief of the sick and injured, the elderly, the chronically ill and others in need of care and treatment, as well as for the education and welfare of patients and co-workers of the hospital. The Foundation Board of Trustees is the backbone on the Foundation. Board members are community and hospital leaders who give their time and energy to assist Mercy Hospital in providing health care and advanced medical technology to the Independence area. The Mercy Hospital Foundation is here to help, building and preserving the health care needs of Independence, Kansas.
