Jerry is the owner and funeral director of Cheney Wiit Chapel
where he has been joined in the business by two of his sons, Jared and Jordan. He is a former
Foundation Board member and was active during the capital campaign when he and his wife, Judy,
chaired the community drive. Additionally, he has served two terms as president of the Ft. Scott
Area Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Rotary Club. He is immediate past president of
Kansas Funeral Directors Association.
Jerry is an elder in the Community Christian Church and enjoys high school and college
sports as well as occasional golf. He also enjoys an interest in home construction.
